Personal data (hereinafter generally referred to as "data") is processed by us only to the extent necessary and for the purpose of providing a functional and user-friendly website, including its content and the services offered on it.
Pursuant to Art. 4 No. 1 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, i.e. the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter referred to as the "GDPR"), "processing" means any operation or set of operations performed on personal data, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction.
In the following privacy policy, we inform you in particular about the type, scope, purpose, duration and legal basis for the processing of personal data, insofar as we alone or jointly with others determine the purposes and means of such processing. We also inform you below about the third-party components we use for optimisation purposes and to improve the quality of use, insofar as third parties thereby process data under their own responsibility.

Data processed when you use our website will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies, provided no statutory retention obligations preclude deletion and no information to the contrary is provided below regarding individual processing procedures.
For technical reasons, in particular to ensure a secure and stable website, data is transmitted by your internet browser to us or to our web hosting provider. These so-called server log files record, among other things, the type and version of your internet browser, the operating system, the website from which you accessed our website (referrer URL), the page(s) of our website that you visit, the date and time of the respective access, and the IP address of the internet connection from which our website is used.
This data, collected in this way, is stored temporarily, but not together with any other data of yours.
This storage takes place on the legal basis of Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the improvement, stability, functionality and security of our website.
The data is deleted after seven days at the latest, unless further retention is required for evidentiary purposes. Otherwise, the data is wholly or partially exempt from deletion until the incident in question has been conclusively clarified.
If you contact us via the contact form, telephone, WhatsApp or email, the data you provide will be used to process your enquiry. Providing this data is necessary in order to process and respond to your enquiry — without it, we may not be able to answer your enquiry, or only to a limited extent.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR.
Your data will be deleted once your enquiry has been conclusively answered, provided no statutory retention obligations preclude deletion, such as in the case of any subsequent contract processing.
We offer you the option of applying to us via our website. In the case of these digital applications, your applicant and application data is collected and processed electronically by us for the purpose of handling the application process.
The legal basis for this processing is Section 26 (1) sentence 1 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) in conjunction with Art. 88 (1) GDPR.
If an employment contract is concluded following the application process, we will store the data you provided during the application in your personnel file for the purpose of the usual organisational and administrative processes — of course, in compliance with further legal obligations.
The legal basis for this processing is likewise Section 26 (1) sentence 1 BDSG in conjunction with Art. 88 (1) GDPR.
If an application is rejected, we automatically delete the data submitted to us two months after notification of the rejection. However, deletion will not take place if statutory provisions — for example, evidentiary obligations under the German General Act on Equal Treatment (AGG) — require longer storage of up to four months, or until the conclusion of legal proceedings.
In this case, the legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR and Section 24 (1) No. 2 BDSG. Our legitimate interest lies in the defence or enforcement of legal claims.
If you expressly consent to a longer storage period for your data, for example to be included in an applicant or prospect database, the data will continue to be processed on the basis of your consent. The legal basis is then Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR. You may, of course, withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by notifying us, in accordance with Art. 7 (3) GDPR.
The information you submit via the application form (name, contact details, desired position, earliest starting date, message and the names of uploaded files) is stored in a database. Uploaded documents (e.g. your CV) are delivered to us by email. Processing is carried out with the help of the service providers named below under "Technical service providers for forms".
If you book an initial consultation via our website or submit a request through our initial consultation form, we process the data you provide (name, company, email address, telephone number, selected appointment and type of call, your request or the details of your enquiry and the page from which you booked). The data is stored in a database, we receive a notification by email and, when you book an appointment, we send a confirmation to the email address you provided.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR (implementation of pre-contractual measures at your request). Your data will be deleted as soon as your request has been finally processed and no statutory retention obligations prevent this.
To operate our website and forms we use service providers that process data on our behalf as processors under Art. 28 GDPR: Vercel Inc. (hosting of the website), Neon, Inc. (database; the data is stored in a data centre in Frankfurt am Main) and Resend, Inc. (sending of email notifications and confirmations). Where data is transferred to the USA in this context, this is based on the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
To show our locations, we embed a map from the OpenStreetMap service on our website. The operator is the OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John's Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom. When the map is loaded, map tiles are retrieved from servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation. In particular, your IP address is transmitted to them.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the appealing presentation of our locations. Further information is available in the privacy policy of the OpenStreetMap Foundation athttps://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy.
